Felgenhauer - key vendor partner
In 2022 PSS partnered with Felgenhauer Steelworks to fabricate 37 Tunnel Ridge shield structures. Since then, the teams from both companies have grown into a family serving as a highly efficient, like-minded, customer-centric machine. In the past 3 years PSS and Felgenhauer have teamed up to deliver 492 shield structures to longwall mines in America. That’s almost 30 million pounds of steel worth of shields! There is never a challenge that FSW turns away from and they always stay true to their promises.

Every mine is different. That’s why each of our shields is designed from scratch to match your specific conditions and requirements. No off-the-shelf compromises — just exactly what your operation needs.
Prototypes & Production Timeline
Time from drawing board to prototype test completion is around 9 months. After structural testing is complete a full longwall of production shields is fabricated over the course of around 1 year.
