Replacement links, bases, canopies, caving shields, and relay bars
Parts of your shields tearing apart or warping and causing disruption in your production? Let’s put our heads together and design replacements. We take the outer dimensions of your current parts and apply PSS engineering methods to make sure your replacements last longer than your OEM parts.
Replacement castings
Pan connectors tearing out? Base lift wear shoes worn through to the cylinder? Base lift heads cracking? PSS has your back. We design replacement castings and they are in your mine within 14 weeks at approximately half the cost of OEM castings. We’ve got dozens of designs in the arsenal and we’ll design from scratch as needed.
Engineering reports containing repair or replace suggestions based on used shield measurements
Hire PSS to manage your shield tear down and inspection. Let us inspect all main fabrications in your shield and determine repair requirements and potential future (near or long term) problem areas.
Facilitating structural tests on new and used shields and providing engineering reports based on the test results.

Prototypes & Production Timeline
Time from drawing board to prototype test completion is around 9 months. After structural testing is complete a full longwall of production shields is fabricated over the course of around 1 year.
